The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bolton, Academic Centre – Ras Al Khaimah, will equip you with the skills and knowledge for a career in the mechanical engineering profession – a profession that is essential in so many areas of the modern world, including design and manufacture, construction, energy, aerospace and automobile manufacture.
Throughout the course, you will develop management, organization and employability skills alongside your subject-specific knowledge and understanding. You will also develop the presentation and managerial skills that you will use to manage engineering projects and support your future career development in the industry.
The Engineering Department has a strong tradition in the field of engineering education and engineering courses have been delivered successfully at Bolton for 40 years. All of our academic staff are highly qualified in their own fields and many of them are chartered engineers with substantial experience in the engineering sector.
The department offers a friendly, yet challenging, environment where the emphasis is on both the theories and principles of mechanical engineering and their application in a work context. During your studies you will have the opportunity to work on real engineering projects and participate in inter-university student competitions.
Additional mathematics subjects, such as further maths and statistics, will be accepted as a relevant subject.
You should also have five GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English, mathematics and science.
If you have an HND/C in Mechanical Engineering (or an appropriate engineering discipline) then you may be considered for entry to level 2 of this programme depending on the subject area of qualification and the level of maths and science that you have achieved. If you are granted full exemption from the level 1 modules of this course you will be able to complete the course in two years. Otherwise, it will take you three years to complete the course. Before applying please check whether you will be eligible for student loans for the duration of the course.
